Why Call on the Dark Goddess?

#Kali, Hindu Goddess and Deity, is venerated for her Power to destroy and devour illusions that need to die at the deepest core level. Kali's power is one of destruction, specifically of the negative ego--stagnation, fixation, and resistance at a soul and personality level.

Most souls wouldn't even consider inviting Kali to dance with their struggles or dark night of the soul, due to her reputation as a ravenous creature to be feared above all (and the scary images from westerner's perspective).
From a modern day alchemist's perspective and empowered Feminine (male and female alike) working consciously with the dark Goddess is balm to present day collective chaos and one's personal resistance to evolve.
Kali represents what western culture fears and avoids at all costs: the topics of darkness, death, and destruction (transformation, shadow work, feminine Shakti power).
Two thousand years prior to the rise of Christian #Patriarchy, Brahmin priests where distorting the Goddess, purporting promises to ruin one's enemy via special rituals, for a lump sum of money (which continues to this day, reinforced by her unsavory iconography). Modern depictions of the Goddess show her "drinking the blood of her enemies and standing victorious on their skulls, or covered with snakes and laughing loudly, inspiring fear." (Ashley-Farrand 2003)
Known as Tongue of Fire, an activity of Agni (God or principle of Fire), she offers the fervor necessary to induce enough force to awaken and rise-up out of the flames of the underworld and transform into the Eagle, but first we must submit to the death of the negative ego.
For the Scorpio type in all of us, Kali is a must. For those with Scorpio or 8th house personal planets, Pluto in the 8th, Pluto-Venus aspects, the Pluto in Scorpio generation, women in relationships with unconscious or abusive partners, who avoid communication (being vulnerable), but cling on energetically, and dark aspects of relationship shadow material that is being avoided and projected onto the other, and no willingness to own it--Kali is savior! Just calling her name brings freedom from the hangover of energetic cording.
She also opens the pathway to psychic transformative communication, if the souls converge there normally, and ultimate boundary setting. For dealing with patriarchal type personalities, in full-on ego mode, Kali is your best friend and liberator, especially if all else fails.

The Bhagavata Purana esteemed Kali as the Patroness Saint. She is Mother, Protectress of the innocent and destroyer of the negative ego. The greater the ego, the more destruction. Devotees call her Kali Ma (Mother) and say even her destructive side presents to them in a loving way, removing all inner and outer obstacles, granting the highest realizations beyond time and space (Ashely-Farrand).
I'm full on embracing Kali now. For many many years I have consciously called on many Goddesses, Angels, Ascended Masters and the like, and nothing, but nothing was clearing the energy that was being projected onto me daily, in recent months, until I called on Kali. She could meet the energy head on, and the person clinging-on obviously needed her liberation too.
Working with Kali energy is nothing is play with. If you don't want things to change, she's not to be called on. One needs to be conscious and fully aware of her power. I highly suggest reading Shakti Mantras by Thomas Ashley-Farrand and/or working with a practitioner of the Goddess and mantra practices.
FYI these practices are not to be done out of hatred, spite, etc., but from a loving conscious place. In this way, true empowerment, grace and healing can be bestowed on all involved.
